About Get Local

Get Local is a marketplace that connects travellers with local experience hosts across Jamaica. By using our platform — whether to browse, book, or host experiences — you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected].

Using Get Local

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must not share your account with others or use another person's account without their permission.

Bookings and payments

When you book an experience through Get Local, you enter into a direct agreement with the host. Get Local facilitates the transaction but is not a party to that agreement.

Payments are processed securely through our payment provider. Prices are shown in the currency displayed on the listing and include any applicable fees at checkout.

Cancellation and refund terms are set by the individual host and displayed on each experience listing before you confirm a booking.

Host responsibilities

Hosts are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, including descriptions, pricing, availability, and any safety considerations. Hosts must hold any licences or permits required by local law to offer their experience.

By listing on Get Local, hosts grant us a non-exclusive licence to display their content (photos, descriptions, pricing) on the platform for the purpose of facilitating bookings.

Traveller responsibilities

You agree to treat hosts and other users with respect. You must not use Get Local to engage in any unlawful activity, harassment, or behaviour that could harm others.

When attending an experience, you are responsible for your own safety and must follow any instructions provided by the host. Get Local is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your participation in an experience.

Reviews and content

Reviews must be honest and based on your genuine experience. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our community standards, including those that are abusive, fraudulent, or irrelevant.

Any content you submit to Get Local (reviews, photos, messages) remains yours, but you grant us a licence to use it to operate and improve the platform.

Intellectual property

The Get Local brand, logo, design, and platform software are our intellectual property. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them without our written permission.

Limitation of liability

Get Local provides a marketplace platform and is not responsible for the actions of hosts or travellers. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any experience listed on the platform.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Get Local's liability to you for any claim arising from use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid for the booking in question.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use of the platform poses a risk to others. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.

Privacy

Your use of Get Local is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your personal information.
